Right now he’s the quietest he’s been all day – probably because he’s asleep on my chest while I’m writing this!
He wouldn’t stop vocalizing ALL day, and of course right in my ear! I need to find a strategy to keep the ear-splitting at a minimum.
He’s extremely spoiled – as soon as I put him in his cage he will become very loud until I take him out. Then he’ll be quiet for about a minute, then start it up again. It’s like this is the terrible twos, except he’s only two months instead of two years!
Anthony and I were trying to take a nap, and he wouldn’t stop - usually he won’t make noise when he sees that we’re asleep. I finally took him out of the cage and sat in the bed with him. He promptly puffed himself up and fell asleep on my hand (but at least he was quiet)!
On the bright side, his vocalizations are becoming a bit more varied. He’s picking up on the whistles as well as some sort of gibberish-chirpy-something sound.
I’m hoping that if I go easy on the whistling and start teaching some words he’ll start favoring speech and just go nuts with that instead.
