The breeder said that when he gets older, his baby sound might go away. I hope not – it’s too cute!
I started training today. I decided on a ballpoint pen as a clicker since it's small and easy to maneuver. At first he was having none of that and tried to fly away a few times. Once he figured out that clicks mean millet, he became very cooperative. For now all I’m doing is basic target training, since I don’t think he’s ready for much else yet. But who knows, maybe he’ll surprise me!
He feels more stable when perched on a hand, but he still loses his grip at times. He also isn’t exploring his cage an awful lot. I don’t know if it’s because everything is placed so low while his tail feathers are still growing in, but at the same time I don’t want to raise perches if he’s not ready yet.
