Back to Normal

Thankfully, after the vet visit today has been uneventful. Let's hope it stays that way. He's still moving his wing a little strangely, but I think he's just a little sore from having the feather removed.

He'll be sleeping in his carrier cage until his tail feathers are fully grown and have no blood flow. Those are big ones and I really do not want to go through this again with his tail! I can't believe how nerve-wracking it was. We got almost no sleep last night because we were so worried. After getting back from the vet and having lunch, I was out cold for a few hours.

I spent a lot of time yesterday and today making some toys for him. I got some pony beads at Michael's, colorful drinking straws, and wiffle balls. I feel like a little kid at summer camp.

Today's discoveries: He likes fresh coconut but completely ignores cucumber.
Yesterday's discovery that I forgot to write about: His hatch day was January 3rd. He's a Capricorn!

He has apparently learned a new trick. When I put him in the sleeping cage and cover it, he starts flapping his wings like crazy because he knows I'll take a look to make sure he isn't hurting himself. He did this about three times in a row tonight when trying to get him to sleep. It only took him four days to figure out how to be manipulative!
